Spoke with a technician and they will be coming out next week to run 2 new lines for the TV and Internet. $60 for the install. Re: Contour box keeps rebooting. Calling for tech support from Cox to schedule a technician to inspect and review the situation. I will post the solution later. Thanks again. Contour box keeps rebooting. moved my box to other side of room. The cable was not long enough to reach so I bought a longer one to connect to the wall outlet. Box kept rebooting because of no signal detected. So I reattached the shorter one diagonal across the room (trip hazard ) and the box booted fine. The short cable that works is about 15’ the long the one that doesn’t is 20’ long. I used both cables on the internet router with no issue, however only the shorter one works with the Contour box. Do I need to have Cox install a new run and outlet? If so what does that cost on average? Other info is that my internet line is dedicated from the outside box while the tv is on a 3way splitter at the outside box. Much tanks to those who reply! Re: 9865HDC Data transfer It's disappointing that these STBs are basic network computers that have a hdd and an ethernet port, and there is no protocol in place for helping paying customers move programing from one device to another. Even if it had to be done at a service center, due to the DRM issue, I would gladly drive to one and have it done. Re: 9865HDC Data transfer Their reimbursement for the "difficult transaction" was that of (1) free PPV movie. Re: 9865HDC Data transfer What about my settings for series recordings? Is there a way to export a list to the cloud or a USB drive? 9865HDC Data transfer I recently received notification that my DVR STB is subject to HDD failures and lock ups. Since I have been experiencing some of the symptoms and lockups, I would really like to exchange my STB as Cox has recommended to do so. My problem is I don't want to lose the amount of recordings on the current system and the program record settings. 1.) Is it possible to upload my "Record Program" settings to my account or a cloud based app, so that I can retrieve it later on the new STB? 2.) Is it possible to temporarily download the program content of the HDD to a NAS device on my home network, so that it can be uploaded onto the new STB? Thanks in advance. 2.4ghz and wireless interference I am looking to add some wireless speakers to my home theater. I was told by the speaker manufacturer that since they operate on a 2.4ghz frequency that they may receive interference from my router/modem. Does Cox offer a 5ghz gateway/modem/router as part of their equipment rental?
