Youtube App stopped working in Contour 2 TV Box
This morning when I turned on my television to access the Youtube app on my Contour 2 TV box it will take me to the Youtube icon on the internet, but once it is finished downloading to open up the service the TV screen just goes black and nothing shows up. All of the other Apps like Netflix etc are working, just the Youtube App is dead. What is going on with this. It was working fine last night. I am nowhere near exceeding my monthly usage which I never exceed. I unplugged all of my equipment, TV, Contour 2 box, my Panoramic wifi router and it did two resets and it the Youtube App is still not working on my TV. Does anyone have a fix or suggestions. One other thing, Cox continues to made all sorts of settings changes with my phone service, security service, but they never notify me of any of the changes and then I find out that the changes are affecting my services such as receiving blocked number calls which I never had turned on, but Cox turned it on without telling me. My doctors and research staff could not make calls to my home using their blocked numbers because Cox turned on the blocked numbers service without telling me. I have several other similar examples of other settings changes being done remotely by Cox without my permission.Re: Customizing tv guide
You can go to the very left of the guide and as you scroll down to each channel you can choose each channel you like as a favorite channel. Then when you go to the Contour home page you click the option "Favorites" and the TV guide will only show all your selected favorite channels and all of the channels you don't like won't show up in your favorites tv guide.Re: Why have you deleted names of actors in movie descriptions? We use actors as a memory aid and as a decision criteria if we want to watch the movie.
The biographies of all actors, actresses, directors, producers etc. have been completely eliminated from all programming that they appear in. This began to occur approximately three months ago. Then the biographies reappeared for two days, only to disappear permanently since then. The only thing that now shows with each performer's profile is their date of birth and the place of birth, All other information has been deleted with the exception of the limited movies or tv shows they are featured in that are currently available on Cox. Any movies or TV shows that are not included somewhere in the Cox programming are not included in the list of appearances for that performer. This is a portion of the information that used to be provided to Cox customers in their TV services that is now limited or outright removed from their Contour 2 services. The same issue is now the case with information in the Contour 2 home page apps such as the weather app and the stock app. All previously available information contained in those apps has been permanently deleted such as the weather app for up to five different locations that the customer could choose in the app to check weather conditions for those cities. Now, the weather app only provides a limited review of weather for the location of the customer without the ability to select any other city. The stock app no longer allows the news for selected stocks, everything has been eliminated and the only things the app shows is very basic info on a stock price that the customer adds to their selection of stocks and those selections are frozen into the app without updates for the selected stock even when the stock market opens for the day. And those apps no longer stay on the Contour 2 home page. When a customer selects the app, the tv screen reverts back to the previously watched channel. Then, approximately 30 seconds later a black cloudly image shows up on the bottom of the tv screen on the channel being previously watched and the info on either the weather app or stock app shows up with a very sluggish response when scrolling on them. Basically, the apps are now worthless. I've had Cox in-house techs and a supervisor come to my home, they've re-wired all of my services, replaced the Contour 2 box three times, replaced the wireless wifi panoramic router and nothing changed, all of my services continue to be defective, signals continue to be disrupted, Contour 2 box continues to freeze, unexplained spikes in data useage and service tech didn't even show up for the scheduied time yesterday, they called and said they were running 2 hours behind scheduie AND THEY CALLED AFTER MY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT TIME HAD ELAPSED. I told them I had changed my entire daily scheduie to accomodate the two hour window for the scheduled time and they didn't even show up during the two hour period. I then told them to just forget about coming in two hours because I have other things I have to do. Then, 45 minutes later as I am preparing to leave my home, a different outsourced tech shows up at my home who doesn't have a clue about all the issues going on with my services that have already been escalated to an in-house Cox supervisor. I have literally spent HUNDREDS OF HOURS of my own personal time over the last 20 years, particularly over the last year since I was forced by Cox to upgrade to a newer Panoramic wireless wifi router under the guise of Cox telling me I had to get the latest router if I wanted to use my wireless devices and keep my phone service and that router has caused endless issues, as has the Contour 2 DVR receiver service. While I am paying ever increasing prices for Cox services, I am just fed up with the endless service disruptions and endless hours I have to spend to just to get my services to work that I pay for and the only answer Cox sends me is an apology and an offer to send out another 3rd party outsourced tech to my home who doesn't even fix things correctly. I just lost over 700 hours of carefully selected DVR recordings from the last two years I invested in putting together my online Cox library- as Cox advertises in selling the DVR service: "Create your own movie library with the largest selection of the latest movies, your favorite tv shows etc. The tech came to my home to check out why my Contour 2 DVR receiver was constantly freezing when searching the movie guide, which clearly it is a problem with Cox wiring and the Panoramic WiFi router that my tv and computer are connected to - and he swapped out my Contour 2 receiver for another one and didn't do anything with the Panoramic router (which hasn't received a signal for update or reset in 109 days). He didn't tell me, no one told me, that all of my recordings are stored in the old Contour 2 receiver, not in the Cox data storage center, thus EVERYTHING IS LOST AND GONE IN THE NEW CONTOUR 2 BOX. They never told me I would lose everything when changing receivers. You know how I know something is very fishy and makes me think they are scamming us to buy and rent new shows and movies by losing all of things we recorded and watch from the stored recordings saved? Because in the new Contour 2 receiver all of my titles of movies I had stores in the recording saved section are on the new Contour 2 box as are all the titles of the movies I listed as my favorites; what is missing is the actual recordings. How could a brand new Contour 2 receiver have all the names of the movies and shows I recorded, but all my settings from the old Contour 2 settings are gone b/c it's a new receiver. Also my previous selected favorite channels guide settings are on thr new Contour 2 receiver. How is thst possible if its a brand new receiver with no prior settings in it, everything shoudl be factory new without any settings. The only thing NOT on the new device are all my recorded and saved movies. Why is that? This means they purposefully deleted access to the saved recordings, but its in the digital system that they were my saved recordings. They know exactly what I saved and they can transfer and restore any data they choose to transfer. They are not truthful at all. This is all about getting customers to watch and record new content to sell info to advertisers who get nothing from customers who are only watching recorded, saved movies. They want revenue from advertisers and stores all our,data and what we watch to sell it to advertisers. Advertisers are not going to pay increased ad rates if customers are not watching new programs b/c they are only watching their recorded programs. However, that is not my problem. That is why I'm paying $20 a month to record and watch what I want to watch plus the monthly charges for the movie channels and the cable itself.. This is a complete breach of FTC and consumer protection laws. See the photos below proves it. I went to my saved playlist and under rhe category SyFy it shows the one new movie I recorded with the new Contour 2 receiver The Fifth Elememt and next to it it shows a 2nd box of 26 programs that read "unavailble" When I click on unavailable it brings up everyone of the titles of rhe movies I had recorded on the old Contour 2 receiver but now they are no longer available for me to watch as recorded, saved movies. WHAT DID I PAY $8.50 per momth for the DVR receiver and $12.99 for the service to record selections for, only to have Cox break their annual contract, losing all of my recordings while,they continue charging for the equipment and service. This is a violation of consumer protection laws under California law and other state and federal laws as well as the FTC regulations and the FCC who regulates their business practices and ability to charge customers for services.
