Then try to send yourself an email and let us know what errors you receive. Hi Tiffany, I did that -- moved my outgoing messages to the draft box, and sent myself a test message -- it would not go; here is the error message I got: An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'Test Live Mail Cox' Server Error: 554 Server Response: 554 fed1rmimpo209.cox.net cox connection refused from 124.106.128.94 Server: 'smtp.cox.net' Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC6F Protocol: SMTP Port: 465 Secure(SSL): YesAdding my Cox Email Account to Windows Live Mail, I Can Receive Mail But Cannot SendI set up my Cox Mail account in Windows Live Mail, using the protocols specified in the Cox Mail set up instructions. I can receive mail, but my outgoing mail sits in the "Outgoing" box, and I get an error message. For the outgoing Email server, I'm using the following; Outgoing: smtp.cox.net; Port 465 with SSL enabled and authorization box checked,Re: Importing Contact Lists to Cox Webmail Jacob K said: ColleenD said: Jacob K, The error means one of your column headings in the .csv file isn't being recognized. Since it's only loading first and last names, what is your column heading after the first and last names? I make the columns in the csv file the same as the contact block headings in the cox contacts modue: First Name; Last Name; and Email 1 Still wouldn't transfer the E-mail column I stumbled across the answer. The column title of the column I want to import must be verbatim the same as the Cox Contact field I want to import the information to. I had titled the Email 1 column in my csv file as "E Mail 1". I should have titled it "Email 1". The issue was I had a space between E and Mail, instead of no space, as in "Email 1". I thank everyone who responded for their help!Re: Importing E-Mail Contact Information From a .CSV file to the Cox Mail Contact List LatitiaS said: Hi Jacob K, I need a bit more information. Where did you import the contacts from? I exported the contacts from my Windows Live Mail account and saved it as a CSV file. Before saving it, I deleted all columns except First Name, Last name and E mail address. I added a row as the first row with the following titles: First Name, Last Name and E Mail 1. The First Name and Last Name of each of the several hundred rows of my CSV file imported to the Cox Contacts perfectly. The E Mail address were ignored. I can attach the first 10 rows of that file if you need it to look at. Thanks, I need your help to resolve this.Re: Importing Contact Lists to Cox Webmail ColleenD said: Jacob K, The error means one of your column headings in the .csv file isn't being recognized. The steps don't outline a way to indicate mapping--that is, carrying over columns from the csv file to the cox mail contact columns/fields. When I select "Import", it just carries over the first and last name columns of the csv file, but not the E-mail column. Importing E-Mail Contact Information From a .CSV file to the Cox Mail Contact ListWhy don't the E-mail addresses from my .csv file import to the Cox mail Contact List? I have a first line header in the csv file with First Name, Last Name and E-Mail 1 headings. The first and last names import perfectly, but the E-mail addresses are ignored. How do I match the Cox mail contact headings with the csv headings so that the E-Mail addresses will import? I have not been able to get an answer from the Cox support department.Importing Contact Lists to Cox WebmailWhy doesn't the import function work for importing a csv list of email addresses? I keep getting the message ""Could not translate a single column title. Is this valid CSV file?", even though my csv file is valid. I even tried saving the file in notepad, but that version would not import either. I have saved my contact list which is an Excel spreadsheet in CSV format, but it will not import, leaving with the above message each time I try. Why is it doing this?Solved
