It has cable connected to the end of the power adapter and the other end is plugged into the cable wall outlet. I have attached alink to a picture that shows what I am describing. What exactly is that for? Thanks, Kevin https://imgur.com/IDPoXG0 Re: Receiver: Okay to Always Leave On? Thanks, Becky, but I actually have aContour Record 6 HD-DVR (your link was for Contour 2 -- unless I am misunderstanding the products (I'm new to Cox). Between your response and Jerry's experience, however, it sounds like leaving the receiver on has little effect on product lifespan. Re: Receiver: Okay to Always Leave On? Thanks, Jerry. From your experience, it sounds like it keeping it on has little effect on lifespan of the receiver. Display Elapsed Time I have a "Contour Record 6 HD-DVR" receiver. I would like for the elapsed time (for a show or movie) toalways display on the screen. I know I can click the "OK" button to have it temporarily display, but #1, it does not stay on the screen, and #2, it shows those other options, as well, and takes up 25% or so of the entire screen. I would like the elapsed time to display in one of the corners or at the top or bottom. Is that possible? Thanks! Receiver: Okay to Always Leave On? Hi. The installersuggested I always leave myContour Record 6 HD-DVRon. I just want to double-check: Is this the recommended approach, or is it better to turn it off at night (or when TV is not on)? Thanks. Solved
