ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: intermittent cable modem resets caused by signal drop i had the exact same issue... had 7 cox techs come out... none could find issue... bought a brand new motorola 6121 and had the same issue... finally I tried Cox's new Cisco DPC3010 (I think it was $70 or $80 and it fixed the problem entirely... cox and motorola aren't getting along and they will not acknowledge that fact... you can get one of the cox techs to loan you the modem to try it for a few days pretty easily... if you talk to cust. service you can probably get them to GIVE you the modem as compensation for your downtime... My signal levels are *** perfect right now and I've had 4 techs out... the latest tech today told me that it was because the cable modem was plugged into my surge protector (AC only, not the cable line)... so I humored him and still the same issue... all indications lead to a CMTS or node problem but no one at cox will acknowledge this!!! I don't know where you're located but I'm having the EXACT same issue... exact same modem (6120) I'm in Lafayette, LA... been going back and forth with tech support for a few months now on this! I lose signal for around 30-60 seconds at random amounts during the day... sometimes no times, sometimes as many as 10 times during the day at random times... its getting horrible... and tech support supervisors fail to call me back even... its getting pathetic...
