It is pretty obvious that Cox would llike to get rid of Webmail (out-sourcing in the last 5 years, no new Webmail accounts, very slow response in the last couple of months). And poor spam filtering, especially with phishing attempts. Forwarding these attempts does not seem to result in any improvement. I have defined any msg with "Cox" as spam. Re: Missing inbox emails Emails prior to that day vanished. Even tho I access the email from various other devices at times, I don't do block deletions. I'm guessing with all the work that Cox is doing to Webmail (slow response, not available at times) that a glitch happened. Re: Missing inbox emails Directly from your website using a Windows browser. Missing inbox emails Most of the read emails in my inbox have vanished today. There were about 50 emails in my inbox this morning, but now only 5 are displayed, recently received. I am in the Santa Barbara CA area. The contents of my other folders seem to be intact. Re: spam It's pretty clear that the vendor that Cox outsourced the email to doesn't really care to block the spam. This has to be done at the domain/network level as the spammers are spoofing their sending address, names and subjects with every spam mail. This is why user spam filters are not really effective as you quickly run out of blocked capacity. Re: Why do internet filters not work????? The most annoying spam (Candy.., Simplisafe) need to filtered at the Cox email server level. Both the sender name and email address of the sender are changed in every email. They are spoofing their address and changing names and subjects to evade user filtering. Filtering needs to be done at the system level, looking at the actual domain(s) that are the source. However since the company that Cox outsourced their email system to doesn't seem to do system level filtering, we users are stuck with a spammed system, and perhaps the slowest email system that exists today. Re: Webmail TiffanyR said: Hello Gerry, Have you tried deleting the browsers cache and cookies? If not, I would give that a try. If you still have trouble, you may want to create additional folders to lessen the amount of emails per folder. Tried that, no improvement. Looks like the new webmail can't handle more than a couple of hundred messages per folder gracefully. Plus it is noticeably slower than its predecessor.WebmailI have setup a number of folders in my webmail account. Several folders have more than 500 saved messages. Lately, I have unable to scroll to the earliest saved messages in these folders. It does scroll with some delay thru the first 5 screens. However scrolling much more than this results in delays of several minutes. And trying to the get to the earliest messages is impossible as the screen does not want to scroll to the end. How can I get to the earliest messages? This was not a problem before the new webmail was implemented. I'm well within my message limits. Using IE11.Re: webmail issueHaving problems sending email to Bryant@lpwa.org this morning in the Santa Barbara area. Webmail claimed it was an invalid address. Sent the same msg out via another email provider successfully. Cox is apparently having problems with their webmail system. Am receiving email OK.Re: WebmailCox Webmail has been frequently very slow in the Santa Barbara - Goleta area. I've been almost always able to log-on, but Webmail interface has had lots of delay in responding. Replying to a received email occasionally doesn't work.
