Re: Problems with home phone cutting in and out on a Cox line Have you tried plugging a good old 2500 type set (not electronic, pure analog), like everyone had 20 or 30 years ago? Re: Phantom calls No disagreement about analog's advantages. Just think, all these companies so invested in VOIP for their whole communication needs, still need an analog line to report outages, or a cell phone. The reset seems to have fixed the inbound caller id issue! With one or two exceptions, I think the culprit of the outbound calls is my wife not paying attention when dialing. She's legally blind but still trying, so I gotta forgive her. Good bantering with you, Bruce. I'll be here more often! Re: Phantom calls VOIP is cute, but they ruined a good thing when the industry embraced putting all their eggs in one basket. Have you tried the NANPA site?https://nationalnanpa.com/ Re: Phantom calls Thanks, I am very familiar with the NANPA site, I used to program toll restriction tables on a LOT of PBXs back in the "good old days". Re: Phantom calls I don't recognize any of the numbers. I'm going to go back through my call history for a month to see if their is anything common, a few seem to be at the same time a valid call is dialed. I've rebooted the modem, just not remotely yet. I'll give that a try later. The more symptoms the better when troubleshooting...up to a point! Re: Phantom calls Thanks for the reply. I don't have tv through Cox, caller ID is only on the phones. These random numbers only show up on the call history, not on the dialed number history of the Panasonic phones. No security system, faxes, or phone modems. Cox Voice was implemented here about a year or so ago. Phantom calls First I've been back here for a year or so, it seems to have disappeared... Any ways, looking at my call history that I monitor daily, I often see multiple numbers as having been dialed from here, within seconds or simultaneously, with a duration of 0 seconds. I wonder if my number is being used by spammers. Also, unrelated, but my caller ID only works on my Panasonic phones about half the time. Any ideas? SolvedRe: Preview & review of commercial flyers Only if your phone is a plain old analog phone that doesn't need AC. Most people have cordless nowadays, so the battery would be essentially a waste. Re: Have turned off voice mail but still get stutter dial tone. How can I make it stop? Check your voicemail.
