However, as I commented above, Vegas is no longer a "local" area for the Kings and Ducks. Their games are blacked out on 1049/1050. However, the Kings and Ducks are no longer blacked out on NHL Center Ice or the NHL streaming services in Las Vegas. The TV territorial areas are determined by the NHL and teams; in this situation, Cox has no control over whether they can show the Kings and Ducks on channels 1049/1050. Other than the Kings and Ducks, it is my understanding all other programming from Fox Sports West and Prime Ticket is shown in the Las Vegas market. I had an extended phone conversation with Cox tech support today (10/19) regarding the program guide erroneously continuing to show Kings and Ducks games on 1049/1050. The rep issued a trouble ticket although I'm not certain she truly understood the issue. Re: Tivo and Cable Cards ClueLess - What Andrew said. I've got three Tivos with Cox, all are working, although I had to swap out a tuning adapter that went bad recently. I'm assuming you also have a tuning adapter. Call TiVo technical support and ask for a cable card specialist. They can have you check the TiVo diagnostic screens and determine if there is a problem with the TiVo. Of my three TiVo boxes, I did get a defective one and TiVo had to swap it out. I'm assuming your box is still under warranty. Re: la kings blacked out in las vegas I said this in another thread - same issue. Las Vegas is no longer in the Ducks and Kings protected tv territory and their games are no longer shown here on Fox Sports West or Prime Ticket channels 1049 and 1050. As I understand it, both teams surrendered their tv rights in LV. Their games ARE on NHL Center Ice. There was confusion the first weekend of the season when they were blacked out on NHL CI, but I have watched both Ducks and Kings on NHL CI since October 9. Edited to add: I have TiVo, and their guide is also wrong, still listing Ducks and Kings on 1050/1049. Presumably TiVo and Cox will get it right at some point. TiVo also had the wrong AT&T Rocky Mountain Sportsnet guide (apparently there are two different RM feeds) and did not show the Golden Knights games until they updated with the correct feed a couple of days ago. Re: CableCARD installation Kevin, if you're still having issues, also call TiVo tech support. I did have a TiVo box that had some repeating issues and after fully detailing the issues, TiVo replaced the box. Re: New York Ranger games being blacked out in CT now -no MSG on cable package=no way to watch Rangers Imp - do a search on "NHL blackout detector" where you can enter your zip code to determine what NHL team(s) are blacked out in your area. I would think if the Rangers are blacked out, then the Islanders and Devils would also be blacked out. If they are, in fact, now blacked out, then you can press Cox to add MSG in your area. Good luck. The tv areas for each team is determined by the NHL. Cox, nor any of the cable systems, can control that. Re: program blackout DucksFan - Ducks and Kings games are on Center Ice in Las Vegas market tonight. I have center ice and the HD picture on all 14 channels is fine at my home - if you're having picture problems on those channels, it may be a technical issue with the signal coming into your home. Re: CableCARD installationKevin, I'm just another user like you and am sorry that you are having these difficulties. While I've had issues from time to time with cable cards going bad, I've not had any problems on initial installation. Is this a new TiVo box or one previously used with Comcast or Verizon? This is probably a silly question, but have you run the TiVo guided setup, inserting your local zip code and identifying Cox as your provider? I've had five Tivo boxes over the years and have always run the guided setup before the cable card was installed. I have no knowledge of whether that would make a difference. I can only say that with my last TiVo I picked up a cable card and tuning adapter at the Cox store and did a self install with no issues. There was a toll free number provided to call Cox cable card support to pair the Tivo and card and all worked perfectly. Don't give up. Again, good luck.Re: CableCARD installation Unfortunately, the number of people using cable cards is relatively low, so the techs often don't have experience with them. Is the cable card for a TiVo? Do you have the cable card and tuning adapter? If yes, consider phoning TV tech support and asking to be connected to a cable card specialist - I have found them to generally be more knowledgeable in the past and if you're able to install the cable card in the TiVo, they may be able to walk you through the installation. I had to swap out one of my tuning adapters last week as the existing one went bad. Once they're working correctly, I'm very happy with my Tivo's. If it's something other than a TiVo, that's not something I've had experience with. Hopefully, the next tech can get it together for you, but I f not and he leaves you the hardware, consider my suggestion above. Good luck. Re: CableCARD installation Kevin, has your issue been resolved? I've got multiple cable cards and tuning adapters working with TiVo. The cable card needs to be paired with your device (is it TiVo?), then the tuning adapter added to the mix to allow access to those channels using Switched Digital Video (SDV). Many of the techs, unfortunately, have minimal or no knowledge/experience with cable cards. Good luck. Re: program blackout The Las Vegas market is no longer considered the "home" market for the Ducks or Kings - thus their games are no longer shown on channels 1049 or 1050. The Golden Knights are the only NHL team with rights in Vegas and they signed a TV deal with AT&T Sportsnet Rocky Mountain, and their games are now on Cox 313SD/1313HD. If you subscribe to NHL Center Ice, the Golden Knights games will be blacked out on Center Ice. In the past when Ducks and Kings games were on 1049/1050, they were blacked out on Center Ice. Now they will be shown in the LV market on Center Ice. There was apparently confusion over the weekend about this, but as of ten minutes ago, the Calgary-Ducks game was on Center Ice tonight. If you want to see the Ducks and/or Kings, you will need to subscribe to Center Ice or streaming equivalent.
