So if the server domain for that account ends incox.net its probably not being authenticated. Use the webmail as Tiffany suggested or utilize gmail when abroad or some other web-based email that doesn't tie you to a network-based authentication. Re: Xbox One Gaming try looking at your DMZ on your router and setting your xbox IP to it. Data Usage Not Resetting Why are data usage stats still not reset having ended04/02/17 ? Re: Introducing Cox Gigablast @Felicityful Probably never. Gigablast is a marketing scheme. They provide the service to a few select places so they can say its a 'service'. But its a ploy to get people to sign up with cox. There is no coverage map and signing up for a notice for when its 'available in your area' will net you exactly zero emails ever. It's been almost three years since they announced it. They announced their first customer in Phoenix inOctober 2014. Their original campaign stated that the service would be available for 'select, high-end housing developments'. That leaves most of the population up a creek. Sorry. New Data Cap Charges This new data cap charge is going to be a problem. http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/Cox-Quietly-Expanding-its-Broadband-Usage-Caps--Overage-Fees-138796 As people on the forum keep mentioning, no matter what tier of service you choose you are locked in at 1 TB (1024 Gb) of data usage. Lets pretend for a moment that this hike has nothing to do with "Cord Cutters". I am a gamer, and I work from home as a programmer. I often have to sync large websites to my home computer. Digital games can run upwards to 50Gb to download, not to mention for every game you own that needs updating you are forced to download 500 Mb to 20Gb so that you can keep playing it. For homes that have more than one gaming platform you get to multiply that. PC's that have to update, cloud transfers, and I am sure I am leaving out something -- if you are trying to combat "Cord Cutters", you are failing badly. With the rise of 4K platforms, your shoddy estimate of the current data cap accommodating '99%' of your customers is going to fall flat on its face. While I can understand that I might be obliged to pay for more data, your current rate of $10 per 50Gb over the 1 Tb limit is outrageous. That is $20 per 100 Gb and $200 per another Tb. You don't even offer a way for us to pay for a larger data cap ahead of time. This is obviously a trap. So either speed up your Gigablast expansion, offer your customers a way to pay for more data without it being simply absurd or prepare for your customers to start dropping like flies.Caps don't aid congestion and flat-rate broadband has been perfectly profitable given recent reports. So while I know this message will be mostly ignored, scoffed at, and maybe even responded to with some canned message, your customers should know this is PURELY a money move. Re: Minibox loses Channels after Cable service Downgrade TV Starter isnt even an advertised plan. Source: https://www.cox.com/residential/pricing.html So I should return my minibox? How much is an additional regular cable box per month? Minibox loses Channels after Cable service Downgrade I've already been on the phone twice about this. It started like this. One day I called support to have my cable reduced toCox TV Economy. That day my minibox stopped showing channels above 27. With the exception of music channels and some like the ones in the METV range. 1st person said something was wrong with my minibox, 2nd person said there was a known signal strength issue in my area and they were working on it. It has been almost a week now. I would like to reinforce that everything was fine until i was set toCox TV Economy. My regular cable box shows the channels i expect. But otherwise, the minibox does not. Any suggestions? Re: Data Usage DD-WRT has firmware upgrades for a lot of routers.http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/index DD-WRT is a Linux based alternative OpenSource firmware suitable for a great variety of WLAN routers and embedded systems. The main emphasis lies on providing the easiest possible handling while at the same time supporting a great number of functionalities within the framework of the respective hardware platform used. The firmware has data usage capability. I use this firmware. Re: On Demand Cox does enforce its data cap. Did you just call them out? lol Re: On Demand I totally agree. Also they reset the shows you've watched and label the NEW. Sometimes you will see two of the same show (both HD or both SD). It's a pain in the *** sometimes to even know if you've seen a show. I understand that cox's response for this will be that the release of the shows is out of their control, that they can only show it when they get a copy of it. I guess 'you'll get it when we get it' is as good a response as any. Too bad I can't use that excuse when paying my bill. I think its all a ploy to get us to buy DVR services or their CONTOUR service. They make shows scarce on demand, cap your data to limit how much you can stream, then offer you a DVR service for an additional fee per month PLUS service charges, taxes and fees.
