ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Spam Yes it has, much better. Hope it continues. I don't think it could be just my filters. Maybe Cox did something or the spamers are on vacation. Only 2 spam all day yesterday vs 20-30 in the past. Hope this is a good omen. Re: Spam Same here. Don't know if Cox did something or if it's because I started creating filters. Something is working though. Are The Spammers On Vacation This could be just a fluke and I might be overly optimistic. Yesterday I only received 4 spam emails. So far today I have received none. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed a decrease. I did set up some filters 2 days ago, but not that many. Maybe Cox has actually found a way to kill the spam. I sure hope so. Re: Spam Filter rules are not working. Example: I created a rule for if the subject contains "CBD". This morning I got a spam email with the subject "Cannabis CBD". It was not sent to the spam folder. Does it perhaps take awhile for the filter to become effective? Re: Spam Becky, I tried to create a new rule and when I select the save button I keep getting a msg. that >>An error occurred inside the server which prevented it from fulfilling the request.<< Re: Spam Becky, Can I have more than one filter ? In other words can I filter out emails with any of these words in the subject: CBD, ANDERSON, HEALTH, AMAZON. And many more under one filter ? Re: Spam Lisa, I have no idea what a "filter rule" is. How do I fill out the boxes under new rule and create new rule ? Re: Spam Lisa, THanks for thr quick reply. You said >>Please mark each message as spam in order for the spam filters to update this information in the filters. Also, you can create spam filters to filter this as well.<< The first thing I do is forward eachspam msg.asan attachment to spamreport@cox.net. I've been doing this for 4 mos. now and I really think it is a waste of time, I've actually seen an increase in spam msgs. I then mark each msg. as spam and it moves to the spam folder. Now, you said I "can also create spam filters to filter this as well". I have no idea what you're talking about, could you please walk me thru it ? Thanks, coxidiot Re: Spam I've been having the same problem for 3-4 mos. Started out with about 2-3 a day, but now it's 24-30 every day. Now here is the real kicker. I found out that since I am the Primary User ID (my email address), I can't simply change my email address but instead I have to close out the account, and that means my wife's email address as well, and she is not receiving any spam, and create a whole new account for both of us. REALLY. Re: How Do I Notify Cox About All The Spam I Get UPDATE I think I know whatCox does, theysell email addresses but only to legitimate customers for advertising. It is a practice that many email providers also do. However, what the advertisers do with the email addresses is beyond control of Cox.So there you have it.
