The battery is necessary in case of power loss in order to access 911 service, as I understand. When I accepted the invitation to switch from standard (Verizon) service to Cox VO/IP, it was with the understanding and representation that emergency service would still be available. So I am a bit vexed that you (Cox) are not living up to your word. I'm also put off by the fact that there were no instructions for installation of the new modem included in the new packaging. Cox service interruption My phone and internet service were completely out at approximately 10:00 am today for an extended period. In spite of assurances that my emergency phone service would not be affected by switching to Cox, I found that I had NO phone service during this period. Not to mention the inconvenience of having no internet. It would be just common courtesy for Cox to explain the cause for these interruptions.
