ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: slow internet when you pay for high speed. This happens every 2 weeks. I think the login process to the COX website is broken. It took 4 browsers, and 13 attempts to get logged in. Finally I got logged in with the insecure Internet Explorer, until I switched pages, then it logged me out again... I discussed this with support in the past. They don't have a fix. Re: Getting the guide to only show favorite channels As I said before I already have 100's in the Skipped Channels. The guide should use them. I will try the favorites as an alternative but it seems wrong since skipped channels are ignored. Re: Getting the guide to only show favorite channels It was obviously possible without contour as we had this capability before the last DVR update. It makes the guide nearly useless with all those channels I never watch blocking the view of the good channels. Besides I really do not appreciate the adult channels showing up in the guide when my kids are looking for shows to watch. Re: Getting the guide to only show favorite channels The last update seems to have broken this feature that used to be really nice. I have 100's of channels in Skip Channels, all of them are in the guide. I wish we could roll back that last update. Re: My Internet is dog slow It depends where you are trying to access. My speed test with San Diego has improved from 0.17 to 1.08 for a 100MB connection. That is not fixed. just jumped to 50MB. Maybe it is fixed. Re: Do we have confirmed routing issues in Phoenix? Per the "My Internet is dog slow" thread that is incorrectly marked as solved, yes. Try running a speed test with any server in California, and you should see the slowest speeds you have seen since dial-up. Currently 0.17 MB and falling to San Diego from Gilbert. Paying for 100 MB. Re: Putting a NAT open on my modem/router for Xbox Most modern routers support uPNP (Universal Plug and Play) which allows the XBox to configure the router automatically without you having to do anything. So unless your router is more than 5 years old, or is an off brand (not Netgear, Cisco, DLink) you shouldn't need to do anything, it should do it on it's own. If not, see if you can turn on uPNP on your router. Re: Going from cordless to corded My first guess is that the cord you are using between the corded phone and the wall is bad. These cords are really cheap and you may have to replace it. They are pretty much all the same. The second thing I can think of is some corded phones needed to be plugged in to work. A free one I got from Qwest 15 years ago was this way. So see if there is a power cord to go with the phone and use it. Re: The AZ home page won't let me log in with Ad Blocking turned on It can't be Ad Block updates because it works from home, not at work. Both on the latest Firefox, both with the latest Ad Block Plus. I can get around it, so it's OK. Not that I like the ads. I'll just log in from home to avoid them. Re: The AZ home page won't let me log in with Ad Blocking turned on It is not 3rd party cookies. It still failed to log in with them enabled. I also tried allowing your ad scripts from doubleclick and google to run, one at a time to see if it would log in correctly. No luck. I tried to allow ads ONLY on the landing page of www.cox.net, which allowed me to log in, but it caused the forums to appear to be unavailable, or partially available, then a 404 when you try and read a post. It is definitely something that is getting blocked on ww2.cox.com with ad block plus. As long as I disable blocking on ww2.cox.com, I can log in. Not an optimal solution. My guess is that there is a programming error somewhere, but at least someone may find out that if they can't log into the Cox web site and get no error, they may have to disable AdBlockPlus on ww2.cox.com to get logged in successfully. The reason I call it a programming error is that if I login, then use my login to access some of my data (phone call history for example, then go to the link where you would log in directly, it no longer has me logged in, even though it is the same session, the browser has not been closed, and yet it does not recognize the session. No solutions yet.
