I've done speed tests on Cox website and also other speed tests with similar results. The download and upload speeds were quite erratic. Ranging from 5-40Mbps download and from 0.30-24.0 Mbps upload. Upload is highly abnormal. It shouldn't spike up past 6 or 7Mbps or drop below 3 on a normal connectivity. The graph on Speedtest.net usually looks like a smooth plateau, instead it looks like the Rocky Mountains peaks and valleys. I've reset my modem and restarted my PC and game console numerous times and checked all the coaxial and Ethernet cable connections and all was ok. But still having fluctuation issues. The modem with built in router is relatively new. Just got it earlier this year. Its the Cisco DPC3825. I live in Arkansas. I called support phone # to check if there was maintenance being done in my area, but there wasn't.Re: Major Internet Speed decrease!!! Help!!! I'm from Ft. Smith, AR The last few days I've experienced major drop in upload speed. normally it has always ran around 5 Mbps but now it's only averaging 0.5 Mbps or less.I do alot of gaming on consoleswhich rely on at least a 2 Mbps upload. The download is fluctuating more than usual. It normally ran close to 20Mbps but now dropping down to 3 or 4 Mbps. I'm usinga DPC2100R2 Modem and a Netgear N600 wireless dual band router model: WNDR3400v2. I've never had any issues like this until the last few days. seems like it's getting worse. my neighbor however is experiencing the same drop in upload speeds as well. They also have a cox service, but using a different modem/router. Sounds like it would be a problem on the cable lines. I can't seem to get anyone out to check the lines. Tech support doesn't seem to want to listen. I've had speed tests as low as 3Mbps download and 0.01Mbps upload ( Yes 0.01 not a typo) and they tell me my connection is fine. Re: Cox E-mail & web mail down?? i cant get hotmail through my window live mail either. nevermind i got hotmail working, but not cox. i guess they have issues right now. Re: Cox E-mail & web mail down?? my email is down too. glad to know i'm not the only one at least. i wonder how many others are affected? Re: Price increases same here. I've reset my modem, router, replaced cable splitter with abetter quality one. cleaned up my PC. there has to be an issue with the cable line coming off the service pole. i don't know why they dont run cable underground in this part of town. i used to never have internet connection fluctuate so badly until the last 10 months.
