Follow up to Cox notice
I recently posted a question about an equipment update from COX. A moderator, DannyS replied that the update involved new Tuning Adaptors. Strangely, DannyS disabled replies, so I'll start another thread with my follow up questions. As stated in the original post, my tuning adaptors were updated about a year ago. Are you really going to update them again or is this an error. I finally got a hold of a real person at Cox. She stated that the update involves new Cable Card, not Tuning Adaptors. She seemed to know what she was doing and was fully aware of the fact I had new tuning adaptors. She has send me two now cable cards. So... What's really going on? I recently got an email from COX asking that I order some upgraded equipment. I'm currently having trouble getting a hold of anyone at COX that knows anything. I have the Cox Wireless 4K Streaming box. Model Xi6-A. I keep getting this error It started a few months back with one of my boxes. So I returned it to the COX store and got a new one. Then the new box started to do the same thing. I have 2 other boxes same model and they work fine. My Pano modem is just fine, not connection issues at all. I would take this box to the store and get a new one, but worried that it will happen with the new one too.11Views0likes1CommentWorse service
Cox has the worse service in the world I pay over $200 for **bleep**ty service every night for the last 10 days my service keep cutting in and out. Never ever ever get Cox crappy crappy service and let's not discuss service they act as if all of them ate lead as children if you didn't get it slow no resolution skills or communication skills. On Monday evening, my cable started acting up, which it has done before but usually fixes itself. This time it did not. I tried everything they say to do. When I try to reset it through the app, it doesn't work. (and the fact that I have to login EVERYTIME to the cox app is really annoying!!) On Tuesday, I returned the box, which I have done SEVERAL times before. Hooked up the new box, same thing. Just shows a single letter or something on the box and does absolutely nothing. Contacted support, they couldn't send a signal because my box wasn't online or something. So, on Thursday, I again returned the box and got a new one, same thing again. Still technical support couldn't do anything, so had them send out a tech person on Friday. He came & couldn't figure out what was wrong. Said I needed some other type of box & he supposed to bring it today. Contacted support last night, to see if I could get some kind of credit because I haven't had service for 5 days, after chatting with someone for almost an hour, then for some reason transferring me to someone else, I'm told they only give credit when there's a power outage. So, they know i don't have cable, it's something with their equipment & they have no clue what is wrong, yet they can't give me a credit for 5 days??? The fact that every time I have had to return a box (which has been a lot) that they don't even ask what is wrong with it, says a lot to me. I think they know their equipment sucks & just don't care. I am so close to getting rid of them all together for cable. We have nothing but problems with them. My bill keeps going higher & the service gets worse. If I had another option for my internet service, I would change that too. I am in Louisiana and have limited options for cable/internet. For the past 2 weeks, Bally sports Sun on channel 43 in Destin, FL (Pensacola-Gulfcoast channels) is pixelating so bad that I can't watch the Rays games. I have called Bally. They say reboot! duh. Doesn't help. I call Cox and they say "interference" no. The modem is next to the TV. TV, modem, router, all unplugged, rebooted. It's the only channel that does this. I see online that Bally channel does this with Xfinity too. So it's Bally's fault, right? why is it that neither will take responsibility for this signal? I have to pay a higher tiel for cable just to get this channel. it's worthless. If you know what I can do or who to call and bypass, let me know. ~Holly33Views2likes5CommentsCox and AppleTV app
Last night 4/13 I was unable to sign in to my Apple TV app. After speaking with Apple and the tier 2 tech support at Cox I was told they are indeed aware of the problem and they're working on a fix. Apparently they've had this problem before. Clearing your data will not fix the current problem. Until the fix if you want to watch Apple you will need to use the remote that came with your TV.23Views0likes0CommentsContour 1 more versatile then Contour 2- can't go back.
Contour 1 DVR box was much much more user friendly than contour 2. You could choose a channel, leave it on for a minute, go to another channel, do the same, and both would allow rewind to go back an hour. Now, you can only go back as far as the channel was chosen, just a few moments or even seconds. We want to go back to contour 1, but Cox can't go backward in firmware, only forwards. That makes my perfectly functional contour box a boat anchor. We went to 2 to upgrade, but it's more of a downgrade, in all the functions that we use the most. You don't know that till you try it, then it's too late to go back if you don't like it. That leaves the only other option to find another provider, but unless you can try it first BEFORE you buy it, you'd be in the same boat of having an interface you that isn't what you want. C1 was not broken. Why they "fixed " it I have no idea. They even took the clock off the box . Annoying.38Views0likes2Comments
