Where is the IR on the box and is there a setting i need to change in settings?
Trying to set up my harmony elite remote.
The logitech hub has inputs for its ir blaster. Is there not a IR lite on the front of the cable box?
i am guessing the logitechs IR blaster cable, even if fits the input at the back of box wont work and instead need a cox supplied IR cable. Then how will the logitech remote replace the cisco remote?
So then the ir blaster that came with the harmony elite hub is plugged into input port/jack (number 7) in the back of the cisco box? And since the size of the jack on tbe logitechs cable is smaller, can i use an adapter so it will fit into that port? Or will using a adapter affect the signal? Or do I need a specific Cisco ir blaster cable? The goal is to use the logitech harmony elite to control everything including the cisco/contour 2 box.
is the cisco/contour 2 box rf or ir based? If its rf then the harmony elite hub (which is also rf) should control the cisco box. And that the ir blaster not needed. Am i right on that?
So Any ir blaster/emitter wil work with the cisco box? Since the logitech’s jack is smaller then the port in the back of the cisco box I had to use an adapter. And since having no luck with that ir blaster wondering if the adapter has an affect.
also, is the cisco/contour 2 box rf or ir based? If its rf then the harmony elite hub (which is also rf) should control the cisco box. And that the ir blaster not needed. Am i right on this ?
Kevin, thx. So instead of adding the contour 2 box as cisco explorer 9865hdc, that instead add Cisco XG1-A ? And so the ir blaster is placed on right side of the cable box and the jack/plug end into one of the 2 ports in back of the logitech hub?
i dont recognize xr11 or mmx013.
Thx. A logitech tech loaded a device for me from her end. She named it Test Dvr. It worked, but obviuosly i dont know what model it is. One of the nice things about the harmony remote is that when i use a favorite or enter the channel, it goes to that channel automatically. No need to enter the OK button as i must on the cisco remote - and of many annoying things about the Cox box.
the only issue now is assigning certain buttons to the Elite, such as page up & down. When i try to teach the elite using the cisco remote, the Elite does not recognize the signals.
Thx, but that link did not help on how to train the logitech remote with the cisco remote. Im glad for your help, given i wrote to logitech team and so far no response.
