Video Output Resolution

I have an old Mitsubishi...been working perfectly on Cox until 2 weeks ago.   No the Video Output Resolution will not stay on 4:3, 480p SD...keeps changing to 480i.

If I have to change/buy a new TV...I will want to change my service.   I'm sure this is a COX issue.

I wonder if HD channels would output ED video to an analog TV?  For example, channel 1005 is Fox HD and 5 is Fox SD (480i).  There was a channel realignment recently.  Try the less-than-1000 version of your channel number.

    Just a stab.

If you're noticing discernible 480i, I think you've got a few more years left on your Mitsubishi.  You'd know if your tube was dying because they slowly die.  That was the good thing about analog:  they still worked with screwed up signals.

When I had my JVC tube (22 years!) connected to my digital cable-box, the screen height kept getting shorter and shorter.  Time to research a new HDTV.  It lasted another month until the video collapsed to just a bright white line across the screen.
