URC 2220-R remote can no longer power on and off the TV. All other functions work and it has previously worked since I got the mini box. I have 2 other mini boxes and this remote cannot power up them either. These other 2 remotes also cannot power up the first TV. Therefore, not clear whether the problem is with the remote or the mini box. Thanks for any assistance.
I hold setup and LED flashes RED once then after a while RED twice. No response when 981 is entered. Pressing Menu button does not offer an on-screen Remote Control option. The remote I am using is a mini-box remote URC-2220-R.
Does it still control the volume of the TV? If so, does your normal TV remote still work to turn on/off the TV? Trying to see if it's a Remote > TV problem or a hardware remote problem.
in general, have you tried the codes found here, and reporgrammed for your TV? I have notice the mini box remotes are real battery hogs, and if the battery starts to die, the chip that remembers it's programming can be reset.
It does not control volume but does change the channel, go tjte Guide, etc. The normal TV remote does not turn off/on the TV (I changed the batteries to ensure that it was operational). I changed the batteries in the Cox remote and tried all 3 methods to reprogram to come up with the code for the TV and none worked.

If the normal TV remote isn't working, it would seem there is something wrong with the IR sensor on the TV. Did it used to turn the TV off before?
Try with the TV remote again but with everything else turn off like lights or anything else that might interfere with the infra light. If that still doesn't work, I would suggest contacting your TV manufacture for repair.
