At a minimum 3 times a day the DVR stops responding to remote commands, worst case it took 20 mins to respond to the remote input.  

Power cycling is the only solution but that is no guarantee that it will work the rest of the day.

Close to dropping all services and moving to satellite provider.  Cox is expensive for a service that is marginal at best,

    Is the cable straight from the wall to the receiver or is there a splitter? If there is a splitter, please bypass the splitter. If there isn't a splitter, please swap the ends of the cable, what's in the wall put in the receiver and vise versa. Once the cable is reconnected, please power-cycle the receiver and let us know if the issue continues.
