While watching a program that I watch every week, an announcement came on saying that WDSU(Channel 7) wanted an increase paid by COX. So now I have no more channel 7! Cox refuses to pay the fee, and says that The Channel let us down, but I believe that it is COX that let us down...

I believe that COX should pay what it costs to provide service to us, just as we must pay COX for the service they provide us.

Shame on COX! You are being Cheap at the Expense of your Customers! Nothing like Charging a high price for Less Service.

It gets worse! Trying to watch ABC and that is gone too! Contacted Cox to report the issue and was told they couldn't negotiate with the station along with a host of others including CBS ( which is still working at the moment but won't for long)! Seriously?!? Two local stations? We are big football watchers and with CBS gone.... I will be calling to vehemently complain! I don't pay the prices I pay to not even get all of the local channels!  So frustrated and dissatisfied with this service at the moment - or lack there of!

ABC should be one of the channels available through the air for free. If they are lost, we will be dropping Cox and finding another way to get access.  All we wanted in the first place was access to the basic, public television channels! There needs to be an alternative - especially for local news.

KETV is free over the air

There is NBC or CBS.  You could get KETV over the air just not on cox.  Most broadcast affiliates station owners like Hearst want TV providers like cox or directv to pay for their signal.

And if Cox decided to pay the fee we would see increased cable bills.

I don't care about your big corporation disputes Cox!  I currently pay almost $300 per month to supply the service of my internet, phone and cable tv at home, and almost twice that at my business.  This is not a threat and I'm a small fish in a big sea, but I will switch all of my service, my business and home to Century Link or any other providers that can provide the service we require and I really don't care what it might cost me to get out of your ** contracts.  You're getting a little too big for your britches and the general public is starting to see there are more options.  It appears to be the time to explore them.

Good luck with that mrbowhunr Cox is not the only company this happens to.  When Centurylink's contract with ahearst comes up for renewal they most likely will require a fee increase just like they are doing from cox.

    Stacyst,

There was a channel outage in Phoenix earlier, which is completely unrelated to channel negotiations and I believe has been resolved. If you are in a different area, or are still having trouble, let me know.

Everyone affected by the negotiations with Hearst,

Hearst, the owner of several channels within the Cox channel lineup, has pulled their programming from Cox. Cox is working hard to get Hearst-owned programming back in our lineup as soon as possible.

First cox's cloud drive gets dropped, then dropping KETV in omaha with no warning is dropped by cox even though they are negotiating,  They did it right in the middle of a prime time suspense episode rather than waiting when they go off air.  I'm putting in a call to the local dish retailers tomorrow.  For what I'm paying getting this level of lousy service and pettiness is disrespectful.

Yes, Cox tries to make us believe it is the televisions station's fault for raising the price. Fact is, Cox is greedy and doesn't want to lose any of their already high profit margin. That is why they offer ** like the contour box and no true high speed internet which requires fiber optic cables.

Cox has no problem charging us for channels we dont watch, but cut the channels we do. I am paying for these channels and expect to see them when I decide to. Omaha has cox as their only cable choice, so we are being held captive to Cox. We are paying more all the time, Cox does not want to share their profits.

They also dropped ME TV from the line up last night 09/05/17. I have been a Cox Customer since 1979 and never missed a payment. I have been a loyal customer and now they discontinue the two channels that my wife and I view the most. I am going to seek a reduction in payment, and if this does not happen, I think it is time to me find an alternative provider.
