For each of the past three Thursdays, my call history shows there was an outgoing call made at 1:23am to the same unfamiliar number, for the same length of time. Problem is.......I never made the calls. What's happening?
Do you have an alarm system?
There is an alarm system, but we never had it activated when we purchased the home several years ago. I believe it had already been disconnected.
I assume the number means nothing to you? If so, could you post what number it is? If you don't feel comfortable doing that, put the number into google and see what comes up. My guess is the security system. Did they happen to swap you out for a inside modem recently?
I haven't had any luck when I've looked up the number (855-294-2278). These mystery calls have now been made each Thursday since July 19th. I've called the medical alert company, but it's not their equipment making the calls. The first time I called Cox, I was told that it must be the medical alert system making the calls. The second time, the guy hadn't heard of this happening, but he was pretty convinced resetting the modem would resolve the problem..........which it didn't. There's no new equipment, no new modem, and no changes have been made to the cox account. I'm sure it's probably no big deal, and there's probably a perfectly good explanation as to why it's happening. I'm pretty sure the home alarm is totally disconnected, but am planning to call the alarm company that monitored the system for the previous homeowner. It's just all so weird.............
