distinctive ring tones

I recently had to have "fried" modem replaced. After swap, my distinctive ring tone changed from R1 to R2 and fax does not recognize. How do I reset to R!?

  • I think it is something Cox has to do on their end. Try calling up and asking Tier 2 to check the "cadence" of your D-Ring number. It was probably reset/changed when they provisioned the phone number to the new modem. Maybe a moderator can help too. As per this post, it's something they may need to put a ticket in and take a couple days.

    PS. Is there any way to change the ring tone on the fax to see the new ring tone? Feel free to post the fax/printer model number and I can look up the instructions to see if it's possible.
