We still have the outside NIU for cox phone and got our final notice for the emta change which should be free, but we are being charged $20. we also are on premiere 150 mdown and the only emta's that look s like it will handle it is the D3.1 emta which is for gigablast customers only.
20$ flat fee or every month? Maybe there is a delivery charge? If it's a monthly charge, they probably sent you a modem/router/phone gateway. I would suggest having Cox send you the DPQ3212. If you need a faster modem for internet, you can use the DPQ3212 just for phone and buy any modem you want. I would suggest the Arris SB6183.
I already have the Motorola D3.1 M8600 just trying to hold out until the D3.1 emat's can be used on any tier. I would rather have one modem for both since it would be an additional split to add a separate phone modem.
FYI TM3402 is only for Gig except for CA, NV, AZ. As found in this very long thread on DSLReports. There is also the TG2472 which is the 24x8 D3.0 equivalent, but I think they are hard to find. Also, the TG2472 has the lemon of a CPU, the Puma 6, so STAY AWAY.
I thought it was available in VA too. If you live there, let me know and I will confirm by digging up the quote.
