So why are we still getting daily telemarketer calls?
DId you get a bunch of robo calls previously? Sign up for any sites that have your phone like Monster.com or a moving site?
In general, the solution is NoMoRobo, which I hear is coming once Cox launches it's new phone platform. I think they need to wait to transition all users to the new type of phone modems (eMTA) before they can since the new system won't be compatible with the old phone hardware. Fingers crossed it;s a free/basic feature like CallerID.
It won't be free. Cox never does anything for free.
Not quite true. When anom. call rejection was added, it was given free to anyone who had caller ID. Also, none of the competitors charge, and one of the main reason Cox is getting it is to compete against FIOS phone. So while Cox could pin the feature to a higher phone package, I have a feeling they won't. At the most, it will require you to have voice mail or something. JMHO.
They are always looking for ways to jack us. I've asked out of my contract so I don't have the blowups I did for a few months in the internet, then daily telemarketer calls. I shouldn't have to ask and years ago, Verizon, etc. put in nomorobo and other things to fix the phone. I dropped tv from them, soon as my phone is up, that's going too.

Are they always looking for a way to make more money? Sure. Are they sitting around in leather chairs, drinking scotch, dreaming of ways to "jack" the customer? I don't think so. Companies usually follow the industry trend with things like this. I think they have seen customers lost because of the lack of the feature, so adding it as a monthly fee doesn't give them much win-back power. IMO they would be shooting themselves in the foot.

I totally agree Verizon implemented the feature elegantly. I had FIOS phone for a while. I think Cox having to be backwards compatible with circuit switch telephony handicapped them. Choose who ever you want, would just be a shame for you to switch right when Cox adds the feature.
