Turn off telephony modem Cisco (DPQ3912) at night?

Today a Cisco DPQ3912 telephony modem was installed on my computer and my telephone now connects to Cox phone service via that modem.

Heretofore I have always powered off my pc, modem, and router at night and restarted all in the morning.

Now I’m thinking that if I power off the new modem at night I won’t have a phone connection over night.  Is this correct?  Does this modem (which does not have a battery backup) have to be powered on all the time in order to have a phone connection?

That's correct once you power off the modem you will lose the dial tone or you can purchase a battery for the modem which would give you up to 8 hours back power just for the phone.
