Missing Archive Emails.
My Cox email archive folder shows 0 messages. Ironically, I just saved an email from U.S. Passport Office to the archive yesterday. Now, I have no access to the email. 04/18/2024 Puff it's gone. Years of important saved emails in the email archive folder... vanished. What can anyone do?Worst wifi
I’ve had techs come out and tell me I have good signal but I do not. All my videos buffer and if you want to game you can go ahead and forget that because it will not load. I paid $90 for 500 mpbs so I should have no issue with my wifi. I’ve gotten a new modem and that did not help either. This has became extremely inconvenient for me and I would not recommend this wifi to anyone. Now I have to wait almost a week to get my new equipment delivered to get new wifi. Has anyone else had this experience with them?
Gigablast speed keeps dropping to 25-30MB`
Hello - about 6-8 months ago I signed up for Gigablast. It worked great. My speed wasn't ever close to a gigabyte, typically between 200-400mb. In the past week it keeps dropping to 20-40mb. If I reboot my modem it goes back to 200-400mb, for a very short while, then drops back down to 20-40mb. I don’t know what to do. I have an Arris SB8200 and a TP-Link Deco AXE-5300. Both are less than six months old. HELP PLEASE???E-mail Transition to Yahoo! is a Mess!
Received two e-mails about Cox's transition of my e-mail account to Yahoo. Last one received March 6th that included transition FAQs (very few). As I use Outlook to access my e-mail, I noted the statement that said if I use a third-party app to access my e-mail I'd receive a follow-on e-mail with instructions to reconfigure Outlook. Well today Outlook is being rejected by Cox servers, or lack of, and I don't have any instructions on configuring Outlook to access Yahoo! using POP. I've been in a chat with Cox for the last 45 minutes and the person on the other end is more confused than I am. This is a VERY POOR roll-out.
Successful Email transition to Yahoo: using Thunderbird on Windows
After spending a good deal of time and effort trying to make Thunderbird get along with Yahoo, I finally figured it out. If you are reading this, you have probably already called Cox only to find out that they have washed their hands of the whole email thing and will only refer you to a phone number for Yahoo. And of course Yahoo is not set up to handle this, so you will wait in the phone queue for half of forever only to find out that they don't know how to set it up either. So in the hope that my experience may help some other poor slob, I present the below instructions, and I hope it helps. I am using the Thunderbird program to access emails on a Windows computer, however I suspect the settings will be the same for anyone using Thunderbird. First, to transfer the emails to Yahoo and establish a webmail account, follow the directions provided by Cox as regurgitated here: "Visit mail.yahoo.com/login and enter your complete cox.net email address, including the Cox.net suffix, as your username. Then enter your current Cox password, and accept the Yahoo Mail Terms of Service. Upon signing in, you’ll set up a new password for your new Yahoo account." Now log out of the Yahoo webmail and open Thunderbird. I have my email accounts and corresponding folders located in a column on the left of the page. Yours may be set up differently, but mine is the default and I will base detailed instructions on that. Go to the left column and click on the line that shows your complete cox email address. If you have multiple addresses, you will need to perform the following instructions for each of them. Now look to the top right of the new page and click on "account settings". At the bottom of the settings page is the line "Outgoing Server (SMTP)", and at the far right of that line is a box that says "Edit SMTP server"; click on it. A pop-up window will open, adjust the settings as shown below: Description: COX Server Name: smtp.mail.yahoo.com Port: 465 Connection Security: SSL/TLS Authentication method: OAuth2 User Name: your user name, duh click OK Now go back to the left hand column and click on "Server Settings". On this page the settings will be as follows: Server Name: imap.mail.yahoo.com Port: 993 Connection Security: SSL/TLS Authentication Method: OAuth2 Now close Thunderbird and reopen it. You will now be asked for a password for each of your email addresses. Use the new password that you used to set up the Yahoo webmail. Congratulations you have mail! If you want to use POP instead of IMAP I suggest you first set it up with IMAP and then go back and change the setting after you know it is working.Yahoo taking Cox Mail
Should Cox be responsible to it's customers, to see that YAHOO is doing a decent job of taking over the Cox Accounts and ensuring that their system is working? I converted account # 1 over, and am NOW seeing this error - Unable to send or receive messages for the Cox (doug1680) account. Header download for the 'Software Licenses' folder did not complete. Server Response: Your IMAP command could not be sent to the server, due to non-network errors. This could, for example, indicate a lack of memory on your system. Server: 'imap.mail.yahoo.com' Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F Protocol: IMAP Port: 993 Secure(SSL): Yes Well - AND - I don't think I am running low on memory, NOR do I think my DISK is low on space. This is a problem specifically on Yahoo, and someone should be responsible to Cox Customers to see that this transition works properly.
