I started having email problems a few days ago. I am using Windows Live mail. The problem shows up on two different PCs but does not affect email on my iPhone or iPod. The problem occurs when I try and download mail or delete mail items. I get an error message saying that there is a non-network problem connecting to the IMAP server. I have tried a number of different ports using both secure and non-secure connections to no avail. I have call COX tech support and have been told that there isn't any emails problems ... and on other calls have been told that there has been an email problem that is being worked on for a week. I am wondering whether other users have experienced this proble and has any fixed it. I am located in Orange County, California. Marty

Seriously on the money. I spent hours on the phone with Cox technical support. They used to do a good job but now I end up talking to people who have no idea what they are doing. One girl wanted me to clear my cache and cookies. Really I already do that regularly. What does that have to do with my email anyway. They don't even have a rudimentary knowledge how email works. They kept telling me there is no problem with their servers. Right, I don't buy it. They say the problem is on my end with Windows Live Mail. One girl even tried to upsell me to Cox Home Security. I told her I realize your reading from a script and are probably told to always upsell but why would I a 25 year Cox customer who is already paying $230 a month for various services want to pay more for something I don't want or need when my email doesn't even work. I now have intermittent email but I am still receiving IMAP error messages. Hey Cox get your act together. Oh yeah and tell your customers the truth when you screw up and don't tell them it's their fault.

I received a question from a post about this problem from SHARIEL of Cox. However I still haven't received a simple answer to a simple question - IS COX HAVING PROBLEMS WITH EMAIL SERVERS IN THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AREA. This is not rocket science, all I have asked for is a YES or NO.

I finally got to a Tier 2 tech and we went through all the setting on my 5 email accounts and tweaked a couple of things but still I am getting IMAP error messages even though my settings are fully as they should be. My email was working just fine before the tweaks since March when I got a new Windows 7 pc and started using Live Mail. This all started 11/21/14 and from reading these forums, we are not the only users having this problem. Logic would suggest this problem originates with COX. I imagine their tinker monkeys will eventually track down the problem. In the meantime we suffer.

i to am having the same problem my emails are are just vanishing on my i-Phone it started a couple of days ago, they did admit that they are having problems they will have bigger problems if they don't get it fixed soon.

By chance do you have any POP3 email clients accessing your mailbox? If this is the case they would download your email which would remove it from your mailbox and your IMAP devices would no longer have access to it.

I don't know why you raise this question. I am getting 'non-network' error messages whenever I try to connect to the IMAP server to access mail or delete messages. Some of my mailboxes go through and others 'fail'. If I immediately try again a different set fail and connect. No POP clients.

All I want is for someone from Cox to respond to my question as to whether there is any problem with the mail servers for Southern California/Arizona. Simple question which should produce a simple answer if anybody at Cox cared about customer service.

Are you in Never Never Land? There are many post in this forum all with the same mail server problem. You can say that you don't know the answer but don't say that there isn't a problem.

Problem was gone yesterday but is back today. I understand that 'maintenance' was done last night. Tech support is acting like the 3 Stooges on this, nobody seems to admit that thewre is a problem. I can't believe that they don't know since so many are complaining. Maybe the geeks are just not telling the CSRs.

It's absolutely ludicrous that a Cox employee would say they are not aware of any email problems. Seriously!!!!! Why would so many customers come to a support forum for answers if there wasn't a problem. Phone support is clueless that's why we were all driven here. Get a clue. I will say email has gotten to the point where it as least usable on my end but I am still receiving a few error messages here and there. I must assume there is someone at Cox who knows there is a problem and has been working on it.
