High Jitter/Packet Loss

Problem: Constant packet loss (tested via pingplotter) and high ping jitter to different sites and game servers with nobody else on the network. Packet loss is guaranteed when testing for 10+ minutes. It is a large enough issue to disrupt online work, VoIP and gaming sessions. Has been happening as long as I've been living here (~1.5 years).

Modem: Netgear CM700

Attempted Tests: 4 different modems, new coax cables, new ethernet cables, different PC, direct connection to modem, no splitters. At least 5 Cox field techs have checked for ingress and says everything looks fine on my end.

  • For share.pingplotter.com/6BhiihgWhxB, hop 2's packet loss does not carry through to future hops. Additionally, hops 7-11 have slight packet loss, however, this does not occur on the Cox network. Fluctuations in latency within connecting networks outside of Cox’s network, such as gaming servers, is beyond the scope of our troubleshooting. The second traceroute could be of concern.
