High Latency Spikes Causing Issues with Online Gaming

I have been having issues with lag spikes during online games. I was able to do a ping plot to the server that the game is on and found that the second hop is where these spikes originate. I am hard wired to the router and have separate router and modem.

Ping Plot to the game server:

Ping Plot to the suspect hop IP only:

    Hi Jedos, are you able to bypss the router and hardwire directly to the modem to see you get different results? -Thanks, Carol

        @Jedos

        From what you've posted without the router it doesn't appear this result is actually showing any latency. I understand you may be concerned about hops 4 and 5 however you're reaching the intended destination without latency suggesting that what you're seeing is actually ICMP de-prioritization. Have you tried the online game in question without the router attached?
