I woke up this morning to no internet service. After the usual router restart and troubleshooting I contacted cox support and after I declined to pay $75 to have a technician come out (I have my own modem) I was given a trouble ticket number and told that I would get a call back within 24-48 hours. After that I did some investigating of my own and found the following.
1. Cox carried out maintenance last night (cox site)
2. There are multiple outages being reported in my area (phoenix) that are not mentioned on the cox site. (verified through multiple third party outage reporting sites)
I suspect that the changes last night resulted in changes to the network that were not pushed properly (DNS, route, etc) from previous experience. Has anyone else in the phoenix area run into this and found a resolution?
