Modem Upgrade Blunders

I own my Modem today.  Cox keeps sending me emails for a free upgrade.  When I log in to get it, it shows $10.99 a month.  Another reason to hate Cox.

  • That would be the price if you decided to rent a panoramic modem from us. If you received information about a free swap, then it shouldn't cost you anything. We may need to manually put in a swap for you if the website isn't triggering this for some reason. You can either call into support or reach our team at cox.help@cox.com by email.       Had the same problem. Repeated offers received for no charge modem upgrade, then couldn't make it happen on-line (just the $10.99/month offer mentioned above).  Called in for assistance and was told I would have to upgrade my plan (at additional cost) in order to get the "free" modem upgrade.

      A pretty slimy 'upsell' effort I think.  Sad
