Because my internet appears to be lagging, did some light research and was attempting to update my channel setting for 2.4ghz. receiving the error 504 after attempting to save this change multi times. Connections are good, have rebooted modem....nothing works. Can anyone help? Worked with rep on chat who just provided me with steps I had already taken. Then stated I need service call to have it checked out. Not sure why, service and equipment ARE BRAND NEW. Suggestions?
First, I assume you are trying to change your WiFi channel using the "MyWifi" procedure shown above. If so, and that isn't working, try logging direct into the router/gateway. To access the gateway, type 192.168.0.1 into your browser and log in with user; admin and password; password. From there look for wireless settings and "set wireless band". I don't know the exact instructions, but that should get you started. Reply back with any questions but it would be helpful to know what model gateway you have.
Hi and thx for responding....yes I attempt to make this change in the same link that you have provided and am still receiving this error when saving: Error 504 :We were unable to save your changes to the Advanced Settings of 2.4GHz Primary. Please try again.
i am going to attempt to make this change with the other instructions from the other posted reply below and will update all with results.
Thx, I tried your steps and the update seems to have processed when going thru the IP, but when I log back into the actual cox / mywifi website it stills shows as “automatic”, so unable to determine if it’s actually updated. I will run another one of those apps that lets me know what channel I’m currently placed in....provide an update once I do...where do I find the model gateway you’ve asked me for, happy to provide so long as I know it’s right info!

So you change it via the router but it doesn't change on the "MyWifi" site? If so, I would think that would be a non problem, assuming the issue is the gateway isn't updating the MyWifi site. The only important part is what channel the router is actually broadcasting at, which you can see with one of those apps.

It will be printed on the device, on a sticker, usually next to the FCCID. The most important part is if it's a Arris model or Technicolor model.
