So everything in my home ( cell phones, laptop etc) gets awesome speeds, except for my 2 xbox 1s' . Anyone else having this issue?
One is wired and one is wireless. The wired gets around 100 Mbps down and 2.2 Mbps up. The wireless gets 28 Mbps down and 2.2 Mbps up.
BeckyCox it’s sad that your tech group closed port 80 without testing to see what it would negatively effect. It’s worse that a student/gamer found your networking problem for you, informed you, your techs, the company you work for, and not only will you not admit wrong doing, you won’t fix the problem “opening up port 80” and making the internet you provide like it should be for all Xbox gamers! You should be ashamed of yourself.
Then what is the problem BeckyCox?All others systems like computers and phones do not require port 80 to be open. There are tons of other ports other than 80. However port 80 is one of seven specific for Xbox live. Port 80 was supposedly closed due to possible cyber attacks yet is still accessible for business accounts. My contract with cox states “in so many words” that all of my systems connected to your network will be provided the speeds I pay for! False advertisement for 2 months now wouldn’t you say? Btw: 8 other Xbox gamers with cox that I know text me last night and today with the exact same problem. I have spent hour and hours and hours on the phone with your people with no results. Why can you not help me resolve this?
I know you are just a messenger Becky. And I’m sorry. But this is negatively effecting all Xbox gamers upload speed, that are cox customers, ALL XBOX GAMERS, including a tech who works for cox that also just text me with the exact same problem “1.7 mb upload”, yet no matter if they pay for 50 down 5 up, 100 down 10 up, 300 down 30 up, or the gigablast, the upload for all Xbox consoles using your provided network will not go above 3mb/s upload. Download is fine. Upload is trash. I have been patient and kind for almost 2 months of dealing with this. I have been lied to, talked down to like my networking knowledge isn’t sufficient, and if I could I would change ISP’s in a blink. Winstream offers 75 down 9.76 upload, but I can’t due to my landlord having a deal with youCox! This has cost me almost half my income for 2 months!!! Instead of you being the company you promised me the day I signed up, the company that provided all speeds paid for to all devices, you now tell me it’s hopeless in so many words. You have many Xbox gamers as customers and in my opinion are doing nothing to help. And if I’m wrong in any way, show me and get me my 30mb upload speed back to my console and the upload speeds to all other Xbox gamers and I will publicly apologize. And yes, a person spending 2 months trying to find a fix with zero help tends to get frustrated. DO WHAT YOU PROMISED COX!
my xbox does the same as well, both my one X and one S. it's something new or least that i noticed couple weeks ago, honestly cox has so many upload issues it concerns me, first the upload packet loss with AWS servers and fortnite (still ongoing for 6+ months) and now this, it's honestly sad.
It’s all Xbox gamers with cox internet that have this upload issue. It started the last week in October 2018... they will say it’s your console, or it’s your modem/router, or they will send out a tech out who hooks up their computer and say all speeds are fine. They will also says it’s on Microsoft’s end. To save you hours and hours of work to get this fixed, if you can change ISP’s, do so. I have begged them for almost 2 months now to help me get my upload speeds back to what I Pay for on console, but they will shrug you off with excuses like the stated above... Btw, the third and last tech they sent to my house is also a Xbox gamer. He text me today after testing speeds with this issue as well.
Dnoe, please spread the word to your Xbox live friends who have cox internet. That’s the only way this will get fixed. Thank you for posting
I’ve already tried telling them they have a packet loss issue on upload speed on fortnite for pc so I know what it’s like talking to a brick wall. Least your issue just started mine has been ongoing since June and there have been dozens of people posting about packet loss to amazon web servers. It’s really sad Cox apparently doesn’t have anyone with a drive to do their job to help out their customers beyond that of the mods in the forum chat That can’t really do much besides basic trouble shooting for the same problems from different customers in different states almost daily. No internet guru but I feel like cox has changed something with the way upload data is being transferred because it’s NEVER been like this for me.
Brick wall. Totally accurate statement. I never had this problem either until the October change. My Xbox is my tv, streamer, partial money maker, and they messed it up. They say it’s not port 80 but can’t tell me the cause or give a solution. I’m sorry you’re having to deal with this too. It’s terrible.
