Overhead service grounding

We were told to ground our overhead service, but the tech left before explaining what needed to be done.  Our overhead service runs over the street, attaches to one side of the house and then runs exposed to the other under the eaves where we have a Nema 3 box that Cox will connect to either our coax or fiber.  Do we need to ground the box to the nearest conduit?  What size ground is required?  Do we need bare copper?  Any help is appreciated.

  • Hi Bradgaucho, the representative you spoke with earlier today submitted a form to Field Services to get clarification on the required grounding. Field Services suggests that we schedule an appointment to replace the current drop. This way, you don't have to worry about it at all! My team can schedule the appointment for you, if you like. Email your full name, address, and a link to this thread to cox.help@cox.com. -Becky, Cox Support Forums Moderator
