Ive looked all over the internet and cannot find anything. When i asked with the chat thing on the website, the person said that i had to call tier 2 support to do this, "because they need to enable the port". The router that i want to port forward on is a Technicolor CGM4141. Ive gotten to the router settings page, but i cant login to it. Ive tried many different passwords
Passwords ive tried:
and a few more
Does it also ask for a username?
If none of those are working, and you must have forwarding, I would suggest a factory reset. Someone must have changed them from the default. Just remember this will reset EVERYTHING to how it came out of the box. To restore factory defaults, press and hold the indented Reset button for more than 10 seconds or until the front panel LED flashes.
if that still doesnt work for some reason, it will be able to get internet with the default password though, right? I dont want to reset it, then be unable to get it to work again at all
It should reset it to how it came out of the factory, or store. The most you should have to do to get wired connection back is power cycle it. With wireless, you may have to reselect the new network and type in the new (default) password, which is printed on a sticker on the modem/gateway. See example below.
