Already rebooted, changed the cox dns to opendns and it solved the issue temporarily. However, how can i turn off ipv6 because that is what causes the slowdowns. My iphone doesn't have an option to turn it off.
Update: I've changed the dns to cloudfare dns but left the teritary dns to the cox provided one. Youtube takes 5-10 seconds to load but no buffering.
I don't think there is a way to disable IPv6 on the gateway. Try disabling it on the PC or device. Or try disabling the IPv6 firewall.
disabling the ipv6 firewall doesn't work either
Yea, sorry. There doesn't seem a way to disable IPv6 on the gateway. There's are ways to break it, but that can cause problems. If you really need to disable it, I would suggest getting a different gateway (that has the option) or get a stand alone modem and router.
Either way, there should be a way to disable it on a PC for testing purposes. Windows Key + R > NCPA.CPL > Double click Network Adapter > Uncheck IPv6 > OK.
If that worked, and wanted to permanently stop IPv6 on a PC I can give you further instructions. However that won't stop it on your LAN, just to that PC.
