I have noticed an increase is spam email coming into my primary Cox account within the past few months and have forwarded many of them to Cox's spam report, but it keeps coming in under a variety of subject lines including, Crepe Erase, Liberty Mutual Insurance, EHarmony, ABC Shark Tank, Lark Wellness, Ringing Ears, Home Warranty Special, to name a few. The domains are obviously bogus so I'm curious as to why Cox's spam filters aren't picking them up prior to delivery and I'm wondering if others have seen a similar trend? I have received 72 of them since May 21st!!
Same here -- same spam senders. Outlook will stop them, but they get through to my phone. If I leave Outlook on all the time, they will disappear from my phone when Outlook syncs. I don't like to leave Outlook open on my PC all day. But it sounds like no one is going to solve this at the Cox end.
Too bad none of that is true. The rules don't stop most spam and the spam filter group doesn't exist anymore. You are copy/pasting old data Colleen.
Also, when I say the email filters don't work, I don't mean they don't filter emails, I mean filtering one domain or user doesn't block the spam when the domain and user are random. It changes almost every email. The point of marking things spam is to program the spam filter. Since people keep doing that and it's not blocking the spam, I have to assume Cox didn't pay for the spam filter from whom ever they outsourced their email to. The email provider isn't going to provide that service for free, so reporting spam to them is a joke.
Have a good night then. Sorry I was hard on you, but this is really obvious at this point. Just look at all the posts coming into the forum on it. I will update this thread on Tuesday so we can discuss contact. My email should be on file on the account.
Ofcourse, but can't you send a email to them? Don't tell me the email group doesn't have a email. My guess is your only method of contact is making a ticket through corp. If so, that should tell you something right there.
Also, when we talk, I want to create a test email account so I can explore the issue. I just don't want the cox email assigned to my account in anyway way. Is that possible still?
