All my ports are closed!

 Cox Sub here, I'm well versed in networking/routers/modems and the like from running a LAN Center a few years back. Even had a T1 Line.

I have a standard n600 Netgear router and a Cisco modem. I know how to setup port forwarding/Triggering/ and seting a DMZ Host. I tried it all!

I tried bypassing the router, direct connect to the modem and still all ports are closed. Cox swears they are not blocking all my ports, just a few for security reasons.

I can surf the web just fine, but if I want some friends to join in a hosted game, They can not see my game as the ports are all closed.

Is it the modem? It does work fine for access to the internet... Confused or being lied too!
