Why can I not send emails in Outlook? I changed my setting a few months back and everything was working fine until abut a week ago?
I am on the East coast and use smtp.east.cox.net as my outgoing server. Been using it for years and it works with the "new and improved" cox email system.
Pretty sure all SMTP servers use Goelocation by DNS. When they added this feature (years ago) they stop using static server names but left the DNS redirect for those that still used the old ones. I think with the new system, the redirects have problems (specially if on non Cox DNS) so it's better to just use SMTP.Cox.net. I would only suggest east/west/central if you can't send through the normal server. If it works for you, great, but I am explaining why it is no longer suggested.
