xbox one - Can't get a Teredo IP address

I'm trying to help my son hook up his Xbox one for multi-player connectivity.  The Xbox one is connected directly to the Cox modem via ethernet and all tests show that we are connected to the internet except we get an error message "Can't get a Teredo IP address".  I'm thinking the Cisco DPQ3212 modem does not support Teredo IP address (whatever that is).  Please advise.

    Do you have a router connected? If you connect a computer to the modem are you able to get online? Please make sure every time a new device is connected to the modem that the modem is power cycled.
