Yes, there is still the same problem. Actually can't watch The Weather Channel right now. There is a thunderstorm warning in the area. It shows on the crawler at the bottom. That is OK. What isn't ok is the repeating mechanical voice that reads what the crawler says on the bottom. It repeats over and over the whole time the warning is on so you can't hear what they are saying on air. I can understand having the mechanical voice read the warning aloud, maybe twice, but not forever. The channel is useless many times for hours. I also see someone else has started a similar thread about this. I contacted The Weather Channel and Weather Service and they say it is a Cox issue. There is no requirement that you have to play this annoying voice for the whole time the warning is on.

Our video team has not been able to duplicate the issue that you are seeing. They did say that it sounds like voice guidance could be turned on through your Contour 2 receiver. Voice guidance will read contents of the screen out loud, and this sounds like what you may be seeing/hearing. The instructions on how to turn this off/on can be found here https://www.cox.com/residential/support/using-contour-2-voice-guidance.html
