External hard drive for Contour?
I just saw this in another thread:
external hard drive, a SATA hard drive and connect it to your current DVR
Is this possible with the new Contour?

That thread is probably very old ( maybe 10 or 11 years ago) and referenced a specific video platform which has since been retired, but this is an excellent question. External hard drives are not compatible with Contour.

Sad to say, but that is correct.
There is no eSATA connector on the Contour.
I do miss those wonderful old Set Top Boxes and all their functions.
Some boxes have eSATA, it just doesn't work anymore. However even when it did work, it wasn't supported and bonded the HDD with the eSATA HDD so only that box could play back the recordings. If the box HDD failed, you couldn't restore from the eSATA drive.
