Error Code "Ed27"
Hello! Has anyone had problems with their Cox Cable Contour box showing an error code of "Ed27"? I tried a manual reboot and then contacted Cox Tech Support. They tried to reboot the system and bypass the error code but had no luck. The other Cox boxes in the house work fine, but this one tries to reboot and then stops and stays on this error code of "Ed27" and the box doesn't work (no TV/channels/DVR, etc.). It seemed like the tech support wasn't sure what to do either, so now I have a technician coming out to look at it and I'm not thrilled. I've had mostly bad experiences when a "tech" comes out because they don't seem properly trained and end up causing more problems with the system than actually fixing the one problem they are there to fix. Or they try to blame it on outside sources and want to charge $75 to "research" the wiring, etc. We just had Cox come a few months ago when we had issues with connectivity problems and thankfully that technician knew what he was doing and ran new wiring and everything has been working fine. Everything else is still working fine (phone, internet, other TVs/cable boxes, etc.) except this one that is showing the error code of "Ed27". I searched the internet for this error code and couldn't find anything mentioned about it! And on the Cox site it just said "There isn't much information about the meaning of Cox code ED27". Not helpful at all! I'm surprised I couldn't find anything online about this error code. Any help from someone who has had the same problem is greatly appreciated. Thank you!1View0likes0Comments- nareshgolla5 hours agoVisitor8Views0likes0Comments
Bally Sports Channel
I can watch the Bally Sports Channel on my TV’s, and Android phone but on my iPad that channel keeps asking me to watch on my home WiFi and I’m already on my home WiFi. There are a few channels that do this on my iPad but no other device. I’ve tried deleting the Cox Contour App then reinstalling it and the problem is still there. My iPad has been updated to the current version.hewitt10 hours agoNew Contributor2Views0likes0Comments- pigg142921 hours agoVisitor38Views0likes1Comment
My Cox Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz speed
I have recently purchased a homes security camera system. It takes forever to connect/load to the cameras. I checked the highest Wi-Fi strength in the cameras I can get is 30%.! Is this my router problem or Cox internet problem? Please advise.charlessin2 days agoNew Contributor37Views0likes1CommentWiFi is so Inconsistent!
My WiFi is so inconsistent! I’m tired of having to wait for it to come back or unplugging and plugging back in then having to wait for it to reboot. It’s ridiculous that I pay money to have consistent service yet I don’t receive that… they need to give discounts if I can’t even use the internet half the time. Unfortunately my neighborhood doesn’t have a lot of options for internet but I bet Cox needs to update the lines here because I can’t be the only one with these issues. Has anyone else had these issues and did Cox ever do anything that actually solved this problem? I had this issue at the last place I lived which is only 20min away and all they did was just give me a new gateway and that did nothing to solve the issue. I don’t want to have to go through that process just for them to do the same thing and nothing be fixed.Caldmack3173 days agoNew Contributor99Views0likes2CommentsHaving to restart the gateway from Cox
I recently signed up with Cox Cable Internet since I'm working from home a lot more and needed some higher speeds than DSL. Since I've had it, which has only been a week, I have had to restart the gateway almost every day due to having abysmal speeds. I am signed up for the 250mps plan and was getting 10% or less of the speeds. One day I had to restart it several times which really affects my work productivity if I have to keep restarting. I tried talking with a rep and was literally walked through the exact same thing I told them that I did (restarting the gateway several times). I will say once the gateway is rebooted, the speeds come back, but I feel like it's only a matter of time before I have to reboot again. Thankfully I have a long ethernet if needed that I can hard wire in to my work station here at home (which I have and had no issues). Anyone else run into this? It's upsetting since it's so pricey; I would like for it to be way more stable :(Jakey3993 days agoNew Contributor55Views0likes1CommentInternet constantly up then down
I can see I am not alone here when I say my internet connection constantly goes up and down. It's been going on for weeks and recently I saw a Cox truck in my neighborhood. Shortly after, for at least a few days, it appeared to have been fixed. Today, it's nearly impossible to stream anything. Would you please replace the equipment in my neighborhood? I really don't want to switch providers.DoMo3 days agoNew Contributor53Views1like1Comment
