Cox Hot Spot running off my modem
Cox is using my Cox rented modem/router as a hot spot for anyone who parks by my house. I went to Privacy Preferences and Disabled Hotspot but it still shows up. It is an unprotected network using my subscription, my electricity to run their "free" spots. I now have a homeless man living his car in front of my house - I think because of this wifi (he is on the phone all the time). He comes in his car at 8pm and leaves at 9am. I called Cox and they said all their boxes have this. They told me to just turn it off when he is around. So I pay and get no service from 8pm onwards. The only solution is to buy your own router which i will do. Or better yet, switch to another service which i guess in my area will be Frontier. This in my opinion, is unsafe for the public and is basically making me pay for services to other people - theft. Cox is the worst I am writing this here to warn other people. Also Cox told me that is the only way to lodge a complaint.77Views0likes5CommentsCox Email to Yahoo Android app
I was able to transition to Yahoo using my Windows computer's browser. I then wanted to add my cox.net email account to the Yahoo email app on my Pixel 8 Pro phone and was not successful. When adding an new email account to it I get options of Google, Outlook, AOl, Yahoo, Office 365 and Others. I tried Others and it would not work. I just tried Outlook and was told I have tried too many times with an incorrect account or password. I don't believe that to be the case. Can I use the Yahoo app on my phone? Is there another app I should use?3Views0likes0CommentsFiled an FCC Complaint
Internet service not only does not adhere to advertised speeds, but also neighborhood/community has been without service for more than 24 hours three times in the past two weeks. The most recent outage has already surpassed three days. No notice was given when crews began work on-site when services were disconnected and now more than 50 businesses and homes are without service. Cox stopped providing estimate reconnection times more than 24 hours ago. I sincerely doubt that anything will result from the complaint, but this fiasco is one more reason to avoid Cox like the plague. In four years of being a Verizon customer in the same exact area, I never suffered a single outage that was not due to adverse weather or a power outage in the area.32Views0likes2CommentsCox email transition - has anyone completed the transition to Yahoo
Has anyone completed the email transition to Yahoo? It would be appreciated if any Cox customer would answer this question. I have been trying to get some information about when; and all I receive from Cox is we don’t know. In my opinion this response is unbelievable - a significant customer service change and the company’s help response team can’t provide an answer is unbelievable - implies a lack of transparency or worst. So that’s why I am calling out to any Cox customer and provide some feedback about the “actual” transition. I and many of us have received the preliminary emails about the future. Has anyone's completed the transition?6.2KViews2likes62Commentserror message "there was a problem connecting to pop.mail.yahoo.com".
I'm trying to add my new Yahoo email account to my Gmail email account and I keep getting this error: "there was a problem connecting to pop.mail.yahoo.com". I've checked my cox email address and my Yahoo password and scanned a number of online documents but I cannot find a solution. Any help would be appreciated106Views0likes7CommentsBoot issues
Anyone else experiencing Boot issues with Arris receiver ..I have had this issue numerous times, (5 so far this month). It usually gets resolved every time I login and restart. But not the case today. There is a low signal 720 x and the correct signal 1920 came through for a millisecond. Ok . just came on. Was off for 3 hours... What's happening Cox?3Views0likes0CommentsEmail transition forced upon us, is subjecting me to uninvited ads on the Yahoo mail app!
This email transition has opened the door for ads from Yahoo. The only way to stop them is to subscribe to Yahoo +, that has an additional cost. After being a customer for more than 20 years, I'll be looking at other options for internet providers.224Views2likes11CommentsCox sporadic internet service.
I quit cox tv, and went with a steaming service,(roku), or online with my computer, or ota signals. Recently I,(stupidly), followed cox advice, and got a cox modem, to replace the modem and router. Now I spend several minutes everyday trying to get the roku to connect with the cox modem/router. When I explained the problem to cox, I was told that the best plan, was to buy a NEW CABLE TV PLAN FROM COX, and that it would only be an additional $72.00 a month. When I informed the representative, that the issue DID NOT START UNTIL AFTER I STARTED USING COX EQUIPMENT, the representative suggested a new internet plan, and an additional cable tv plan, that would only raise my monthly by $120.00.52Views1like2CommentsBe pretty sweet to get notifications of upcoming maintenance.
Doesn’t seem like it would be to hard to email the customers within the effected area, a simple “hey your internet might go out as we are doing maintenance / upgrades in the area”. It gets very frustrating when you are doing something very important and bam the internet is out for the next 4-6 hours without any sort of notice.18Views0likes1Comment
