Missing email after yahoo transition
I moved my primary account to yahoo when I got the time to move email. I had no issues. A few days later I got the time to move email then I moved my secondary cox account to yahoo email and now the last two days emails are there and then goes to January 2021. Everything in between is missing. Anyone else have this issue? If so, what was the fix? Thanks in advance Don.12Views0likes0CommentsIphone vs Mac Mail app
I did the yahoo transition for my mom's account and it was very simple on the iPhone. But why is it that we have to do a 25 step transition put together by some very thoughtful and helpful members here? Is it because cox or yahoo didn't dedicate enough resources to Mac Mail? I'm just trying to understand this part of it. It used to be that you'd just add the email, password, imap address etc, and all would be well.14Views0likes0CommentsInternet speed issues
Hello, I am not sure where to go with this question as I have exhausted many of the options. so putting this here for someone to potentially help pinpoint where the problem is. i have (had) the PW7 gateway setup with a deco mesh network for our home. The plan was 1G mbps. We noticed that internet speed on TV streaming and laptop(s) is very weak. However, the speed on the iphone (as measured by the ookla app) was really good. Same when u measure with the Cox app. called cox and they recommended to move to the pW8 model and the 2G plan. I did. i was suspicious that it was going to resolve the issue because the iPhones were always registering very good speed. if the router or the plan where the issues that would not cause the iPhone to be good and the computers and the TV to be bad. Because we were reading 800mbps on iphone vs 50mbps, i don’t think it is due to the wifi6 vs wifi5. I thought that it might be the computer and the Wi-Fi adapter so I tested multiple computers as well as a wired connection and in both tests the speed was not improved. I am baffled by how the iPhone can read a faster speed than the other other equipment in the house and I’m wondering where there is a the solution available to us. Has anybody experienced this issue before any help is appreciated25Views0likes0CommentsTransition to Yahoo soon?
I am curious about how much longer the transition to Yahoo email will be. I haven’t received notification about my email going to Yahoo yet. Should I expect it to be soon? I have been checking my email at Cox Webmail and I haven’t received the email about the transition.49Views0likes0CommentsBad router port
Hi all, I have a Technicolor CGM4331 modem router. I use my own router so the modem/router is set to bridging mode. This set up has worked great and I don't have any complaints about Cox's internet service. Yesterday my internet connection started failing intermittently. I'd have internet for awhile and then I wouldn't. It finally stopped working altogether. I switched the internet connection to another port and everything has been working fine. The original connection was in the lower port over the power plug, I switched it to the upper port over the coax cable connector. Let's assume the port was bad and that my remedy was the correct fix: (1) Can I continue to use the Cox Modem/Router or (2) Is the bad port indicative of something that will affect the other ports? Thanks.19Views0likes0CommentsMigration to Yahoo
This is the worst experience ever!!! A definite FAIL!!!! I am unable to gain my emails in Outlook or iPhone. The only place to read my emails is on the Yahoo webpage. HORRIBLE. Dealing with all the ads is annoying. Cox, I recommend you cease this migration until all the bugs are worked out. Terrible customer service. Terrible email service. This was the reason I stopped my Yahoo email account.120Views1like0CommentsiPhone Mail and IMAP/POP3
You would think any email migration plan would have been designed to work seamlessly with the default Mail app on iPhones and iPads, but no. After generating a dedicated app password, I created an IMAP connection to the designated Yahoo IMAP server, but it just will not download messages between 6/25/20 and 4/24/24. Messages before 6/25/20 are there going back to 2009, and messages after 4/24/24 up to and including new ones are there; there's just a hole between the two dates. Removing the account and recreating it to force a new sync yields the same result. The messages appear properly in webmail. What gives? I even tried using POP3. It downloads a few thousand messages from current back to about 2018, then seems to get stuck in a perpetual download loop where it tries to grab the next 3000 messages, but fails a couple hundred messages in and starting over while deleting the messages that were successfully downloaded. I am wondering if there is some sort of download limit being imposed by Yahoo or Apple (possibly Cox).30Views0likes0CommentsFor MAC users with Outlook 365 that want to transition from COX to Yahoo email
Below are a set of repeatable instructions for the transition from COX.net to yahoo.com email MS OUTLOOK 365 migration on MacBook; open Outlook Outlook > settings > personal settings/accounts Click “+” to add account lower left corner Enter Email address username@cox.net Click Continue Select “not IMAP?” in upper right corner and select “Y! Yahoo” Select “Sync to the Microsoft Cloud” by pressing “Continue” Log into Yahoo with email account & regular password ( and prove you are not a robot) Click “Agree”, if you agree Add a verification option if requested by Yahoo Access for MS Outlook > agree Select profile in MS Outlook if asked It isn’t working until you get a grayed out “Microsoft Sync technology” under the email address in the “accounts” settings (not sure why) This has now worked repeatably for me with 9 Cox email accounts59Views0likes0Comments
