85224 regular service outage
For over a week now I’ve been having regular service interruptions. Some for short stretches some long stretches. Each time your app says there is an outage in my area. I work from home and dependable internet is key to me keeping my job. Please find a permanent fix. Also, will my bill be prorated for all this down time? I’ve had to find other places to work from. Fix this please.0Views0likes0CommentsUsing Yahoo email in Mac OS mail app
I have created my Yahoo account in my Mac OS mail, but I can't seem to bring it online-attempts to change it from offline to online are futile. Anyone with a Mac able to help? I tried Yahoo chat, the AI bot is useless and if I want help from Yahoo I have to pay. I can't stand Yahoo in the browser. I can't see the text very well b/c my eyes are old now. The ads are annoying and I will drop Cox before I pay for Yahoo premium. We were looking for a reason to switch to the new Verizon 5g box. Might be now. Thank you in advance.Solved2.1KViews3likes53CommentsNo Service
This is my second day of having no internet access. I'm stunned that Cox finds it acceptable to refuse to even speak with customers calling about it. Their message said they don't have any idea as to when service will be restored. My concern is that if Cox doesn't have a clue as to the nature of the problem or any timeline for its fix, who does? This truly doesn't seem like a good way to run a circus! Can anyone give me a clue as to how to interface with Cox and get at least answers, if not problem resolution?26Views0likes2CommentsCOX to Yahoo, Forward email
I was under the impression the move to Yahoo would work with the same features or more as it did with COX. Why wasn't my COX account configured as it was when it was with COX? I had my email configured to be forward to another account. I can't find in the settings how to do that. From reading I believe mail forward is only in their Premium Mail which is paid for. As a COX customer will COX be correcting this as part of the transfer so COX customers will receive the same level of service they had with no additional cost? I have been missing several emails since the recent move until I noticed the FORWARD was not happening. Please advise, Ken124Views0likes5CommentsSubpar Performance - Connection Status Question
Good Afternoon, I have Unlimited Gigablast and for the most part I don't have much to complain about, but there are times that I notice.. I want to call it latency but that is not quite right. I'm starting to wonder if the wiring in my house or from the pole to my house is degraded, but maybe everything is fine. My question lies in the following images. Are these signal strengths & Corrected and Uncorrectable numbers reasonable for a standard cable connection? These numbers are from a 9d17h uptime on the cable modem. Has anyone completed the email transition to Yahoo? It would be appreciated if any Cox customer would answer this question. I have been trying to get some information about when; and all I receive from Cox is we don’t know. In my opinion this response is unbelievable - a significant customer service change and the company’s help response team can’t provide an answer is unbelievable - implies a lack of transparency or worst. So that’s why I am calling out to any Cox customer and provide some feedback about the “actual” transition. I and many of us have received the preliminary emails about the future. Has anyone's completed the transition?2.1KViews2likes12CommentsThunderbird conversion
I could use some help. I can log into Yahoo's web server to get my mail. I'm trying to switch Thunderbird from the Cox server to Yahoo. I'm being asked for my password on imap.mail.yahoo.com. I enter what I believe is my password. I get the error message "login to server IMAP.mail.yahoo.com with userID mhorowit@cox.net failed" Can you assist?- Mike45Views0likes2CommentsWhen will cox mobile support Google Pixel phones wi-fi calling?
When we switched to cox mobile from Verizon we were told that in home wi-fi calling was supported. Apparently it is only supported on iPhone and Samsung phones. We need this capability because our home does not have good connectivity to a cell tower. We knew this and made the decision to switch because of the wi-fi calling capability of cox. I have already escalated this through support and they have no answer except to refer to the web page linked above . Samsung phones were enabled in August 2023. I also asked about network extenders which we used to use with Verizon before they rolled out wi-fi calling. Cox mobile does not support network extenders. I know wi-fi calling is possible because we used to have it with Verizon on the same phones we currently have. When will cox mobile roll out in-home wi-fi calling for other android devices like a Google Pixel 7? If there is no firm date or at least a target date, then we will need to switch providers again. Extremely disappointed.4Views0likes0CommentsFollow up to Cox notice
I recently posted a question about an equipment update from COX. A moderator, DannyS replied that the update involved new Tuning Adaptors. Strangely, DannyS disabled replies, so I'll start another thread with my follow up questions. As stated in the original post, my tuning adaptors were updated about a year ago. Are you really going to update them again or is this an error. I finally got a hold of a real person at Cox. She stated that the update involves new Cable Card, not Tuning Adaptors. She seemed to know what she was doing and was fully aware of the fact I had new tuning adaptors. She has send me two now cable cards. So... What's really going on? Thanks,23Views0likes2Comments
