E-mail Transition to Yahoo! is a Mess!
Received two e-mails about Cox's transition of my e-mail account to Yahoo. Last one received March 6th that included transition FAQs (very few). As I use Outlook to access my e-mail, I noted the statement that said if I use a third-party app to access my e-mail I'd receive a follow-on e-mail with instructions to reconfigure Outlook. Well today Outlook is being rejected by Cox servers, or lack of, and I don't have any instructions on configuring Outlook to access Yahoo! using POP. I've been in a chat with Cox for the last 45 minutes and the person on the other end is more confused than I am. This is a VERY POOR roll-out.3.6KViews14likes42CommentsConnecting email to Yahoo mess
Just spent 1 hour and 18 minutes on the phone with Yahoo trying to get my cox.net email I have not received for 2 days. In my case I already had a Yahoo email account. The tech showed me how to add the cox email to Yahoo. But on the positive side I am sure we will get a discount on our bills now with Cox since they don't provide email anymore. Time to look at other internet service providers.9Views0likes0CommentsAlready have a Yahoo e-mail and my cox e-mail is the recovery e-mail
When I try to set up my e-mail on Yahoo using my cox e-mail, it sends me the verificaion e-mail to the Cox addresss, but then when I try to log in to my Cox e-mail on Yahoo, it says that that account already exists and then logs me back into my Yahoo e-mail. How do I get out of this endless loop so i can complete the transition?60Views0likes3CommentsUsing Yahoo email in Mac OS mail app
I have created my Yahoo account in my Mac OS mail, but I can't seem to bring it online-attempts to change it from offline to online are futile. Anyone with a Mac able to help? I tried Yahoo chat, the AI bot is useless and if I want help from Yahoo I have to pay. I can't stand Yahoo in the browser. I can't see the text very well b/c my eyes are old now. The ads are annoying and I will drop Cox before I pay for Yahoo premium. We were looking for a reason to switch to the new Verizon 5g box. Might be now. Thank you in advance.Solved3.8KViews3likes81CommentsClass action???
Yahoo is one of the most unsecured emails. They have had many breaches in data and cyberattacks. They own your info because it is free and they are known for selling your info. I was shocked when I went to open my email and was locked out. The only option is to agree to yahoo’s terms of agreement which I will have to waive my rights. I have been a customer for cox for 15 years and I am going to drop them like a bad habit. We should file a class action against them!!!!281Views0likes8CommentsYahoo Email Transition - iPhone Setup
Has anyone seen anything from Cox indicating that they know there is an issue with setting up iPhone default Mail app to work with the new Yahoo mail server we have moved to? Finally got all of my email accounts on Outlook set up and working. Not a straightforward process in the least and now instead of a Spam/Junk mail folder we get something called a "Bulk" mail folder. Looking forward to the day when AI can learn from my Deletions and automatically take care of Spam email for me. ;-)1.6KViews0likes5CommentsI hate Yahoo
I really miss the old Cox email Here's why: 1) they bombard you with ads and to get rid of them you have to pay $60/year 2) All support requires payment - I did find a way around it by starting a chat and eventually it said it would have someone contact me - but I shouldn't have to do this 3) You can only block 500 domains and 1000 emails - no filters any more so you can't block by subject. What they define as filters are different 4) The trash is emptied automatically after 7 days 5) It doesn't show the number of emails next to Spam - you have to click on it 6) You can't sort the trash Cox didn't bother telling you how to get emails for non internet like Outlook, or even tell you you needed to do anything. I had to go out to OEClassic which is what I use to find out how to do this. The only thing I do like is that I can use bold, italics, colors, etc in sending emails.23Views0likes0CommentsCox email transition - has anyone completed the transition to Yahoo
Has anyone completed the email transition to Yahoo? It would be appreciated if any Cox customer would answer this question. I have been trying to get some information about when; and all I receive from Cox is we don’t know. In my opinion this response is unbelievable - a significant customer service change and the company’s help response team can’t provide an answer is unbelievable - implies a lack of transparency or worst. So that’s why I am calling out to any Cox customer and provide some feedback about the “actual” transition. I and many of us have received the preliminary emails about the future. Has anyone's completed the transition?3.3KViews2likes27CommentsThird time in two weeks that the Internet is down.
This is the third time in two weeks that my Internet is down. Yesterday, and last week, it took several hours for them to figure it out and get it back up, and this morning it down again?! What do people who work from home do? Will Cox be offering a credit for this extreme inconvenience?36Views0likes1Comment
